UNS is located in Surakarta, commonly known as Solo, a charming city in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Solo is the heart of Javanese culture, deeply rooted in Islamic traditions, offering a welcoming environment for learning Arabic language and literature. The city's friendly and tolerant locals, well-developed public facilities, rich cultural heritage, and affordable cost of living make studying in Solo feel just like being in your own hometown.
As a cultural hub, Solo is surrounded by numerous beautiful tourist destinations, including museums, keraton (palaces), cultural parks, mosques, diverse natural attractions, culinary spots, and modern shopping centers. Additionally, the city offers business incubation centers, international-standard hospitals, and well-designed public spaces, all of which support a vibrant academic experience.
Arabic Literature alumni are spread across various fields, both domestically and internationally, working as diplomats, government employees, Arabic teachers, lecturers, script editors, journalists, librarians, creative professionals, and entrepreneurs. The alumni are part of an organization called Keluarga Alumni Sastra Arab (KASA, Arabic Literature Alumni Association), which actively coordinates alumni data and networks and contributes significantly to the development of programs organized by the Study Program.
Studying at UNS Arabic Literature provides a complete package. I gained comprehensive knowledge of Arabic literature, language, and culture that I can apply in my work. The program is supported by professors who are highly competent in their respective fields.
Sastra Arab UNS sangat mendorong kreativitas mahasiswa baik akademik maupun non-akademik.
Knowledge isn’t always gained solely in the classroom, but through my studies, I’ve learned so much.
Alhamdulillah, studying at UNS Arabic Literature has been such a wonderful experience. The learning atmosphere—from professors and staff to fellow students—is incredibly supportive. As someone who faced challenges in the early semesters, I truly felt the patience and dedication of both instructors and classmates when they helped explain course materials I didn't understand.
